Minor Figures will be donating all proceeds of Red Bay coffee sales on our webshop to the Disaster Relief efforts through California Fire Foundation. Please support local business and disaster relief efforts if you are able to.
Sup y'all! This month was our first month in the US doing two roasters, KLLR Coffee and Red Bay Coffee, with two delicious coffees available on our website. In case you're not great at counting, that's four coffees that you all have to choose from. Honestly, I don't think I'd be able to pick just one.
Deadstock Coffee is based in Portland, OR. Prior to our interview, a lot of protesting was consistently taking place especially in Portland. Ian and I started our chat speaking briefly about that and making sure him and the shop are safe and sound. Ian assured us that they were all good and had a really positive outlook regarding the state of the world as a whole.
Acidity is a wonderful but slippery term to try to get to grips with. Though often unfairly boxed in with connotations of ‘sourness’ or ‘bitterness’, the natural acidity found in coffee is actually the unsung hero in creating the bold spectrum of far-out flavors in your cup. When cultivated correctly, acids can add brightness, zeal and imagination to your cup, helping to tell the true story of the coffee you’re drinking and illuminate all of the vibrant characteristics of its origin.
As we wrap up our first US based Roaster Roster, we’d like to really thank Mad Lab Coffee for participating. Andrew has been nothing short of amazing. The most easy going human being you’ll ever have the pleasure to work with, if you’re so lucky. We interviewed Andrew through Instagram IGTV to pick the coffee part of his brain.
As part of our Loyal to Local campaign, Minor Figures showcases limited runs of select guest coffees on our website. So, you can get amazing coffee from our favorite roasters delivered, while supporting independent businesses during this difficult period. Our Roaster Roster has already supported over 20 unique roasters throughout the United Kingdom, Australia and now the United States.
October 1st marks International Coffee Day. A day to celebrate the hard work of everybody in the coffee industry, from farmers to roasters, baristas, coffee shop owners and more. Because we all love coffee.
We source the finest in-season coffees, roast and brew them ourselves to have control over the entire process and to guarantee the quality that we expect when drinking Minor Figures coffee. Here's how we do it.
